WHAT DO YOU MEAN? SKIING NOT FUN?! I loved doing cartwheels down the mountain, icing the moguls on my body after a day of falling, smiling and shrugging at my boyfriend’s frown as he waited for me to pick myself before racing down the mountain while I snowplowed the killer steep slope. Now, I am happily married to a non-skier, old, and can sit in front of the fire and nurse my arthritis.

Thanks for this post! Your comment about 30 cumulative minutes of fun” made me laugh out loud. I’ve skied for years on and off, but never seem to advance beyond beginner. There’s something about snowshoeing that is far more magical and immersive, and it’s an amazing workout. I’m so sick of reading about daredevil travel and cage-diving with great white sharks! It’s refreshing to see a kindred sensibility.

I like doing the same thing at work; I take the six flights of stairs up – as opposed to taking the elevator. It can only help me get more fit:) Great post and I look forward to sharing more with you:))

I love this! I live in Denmark and I have to say that I am really impressed by all the bikers out there. I myself don’t have a car- i don’t even have a drivers licence. I think everyone should go by bike, but since I lived in Michigan for a year, I know that having a car in the States is more important than it is in Europe.

I am amazed by so many recipes for kale. Here in Holland, we only use it to make the “stampot” which is actually mashed potato with kale. Your recipe looks very appetizing and definitely a wonderful departure to the “stampot” that I know.
